This Rental Agreement applies to each ToolShare US rental between the owner identified in the booking and the renter identified in the booking. The accepted listing, rental dates, pricing snapshots, fees, deposit amount, extension records, condition records and platform confirmations are incorporated into the rental agreement.

Owner obligations

  • Have legal authority to rent the tool.
  • Provide the tool and included accessories represented in the listing.
  • Disclose known defects, hazards and material operating restrictions.
  • Participate honestly in pickup and return condition records.
  • Not make fraudulent or inflated claims.

Renter obligations

  • Be at least 18 and legally permitted to possess and use the tool.
  • Use the tool only for lawful, intended purposes and follow manufacturer safety guidance.
  • Do not subrent, transfer or materially modify the tool without authorization.
  • Protect the tool from theft, misuse and avoidable damage.
  • Return the tool and all included accessories by the agreed time in substantially the same condition, ordinary wear excepted.

Condition evidence

Pickup and return photographs, timestamps, accessory confirmations, messages, listing descriptions, repair estimates, receipts and other evidence may be used to determine whether loss or damage occurred during the rental.

Financial responsibility

The renter may be responsible for approved repair, replacement, missing-item, extraordinary cleaning, unauthorized-use or late-return amounts resulting from the rental. The security deposit does not automatically limit the renter's responsibility to the deposit amount.

If the renter gives the separate saved-payment authorization presented during checkout, the renter authorizes future off-session collection only of amounts calculated under the accepted rental policy and otherwise permitted by law. Approved extensions remain separate transactions requiring renter and owner approval. If a saved-card charge fails or requires authentication, the balance may remain outstanding and new rental activity may be restricted while the renter is given a reasonable payment-resolution path.
